Monk Seaton, in the parish of Tynemouth and Castle ward, half a mile from the sea, and about four miles from North Shields, is an irregularly built village of no trade, with the exception of a respectable brewery, belonging to Messrs. Sinclair and Co. The number of inhabitants is about 540.
